Eyelash curler test...

Again, sorry about the blurryness. But here I used an eyelash curler on one eye and not the other. I did everything else the same coated top of eyelash then bottom. ONLY difference is I curled one eye before applying the mascara.
Incase you can't see the major difference and want some help... the one on the left (picture left) is curled and the one on the right (picture right, with freckle underneath) is not.
Another way to make your eyes look more awake and really pop is to add a light eyeshadow to the inner eye where the top of your nose and your inside eye meet.
Rememeber your eyes are the window to your soul, don't sleep walk through life! Wake up!

Blue vaseline mascara test...

So I know it is kind of hard to see but I used vaseline and blue eye shadow. I like the look a lot and would recommend using a blue eyeliner and eyeshadow to really make the blue pop or if you want to stick more suttle then use more neutral eyeshadows and no eyeliner.
The one thing is if you are going for full eyelashes this is not the way. Vaseline just doesn't have the same fullness and length as real mascara does.
Try it for yourself, if you already have long lashes and don't worry about volume I think you will love it! And if you have not so awesome eyelashes then this is a good day look but you would want to have mascara for an evening look.

Mascara

I will start with one of my personal favorite make-up items. Mascara!
Here are a few tips I have learned...
1. NEVER sleep with your mascara on. There are microscopic bugs that will eat your mascara while you sleep, which first is gross and second if they are eating the mascara that would include some of your actual lashes, this will result in breakage of your lashes which of course none of us want. I recommend: INVEST IN SOME AWESOME EYE MAKE-UP REMOVER
2. DON'T pump! Pumping to coat your mascara brush actually results in you mascara drying out and clumping. Instead you want to twirl the brush in your mascara tube.
3. Pros and Cons of using an eyelash curler. Curling your eyelashes does add that extra step in getting ready so you choose if it is worth it. But it makes your eyes look more awake if you do curl them. The way you want to do this is first curl as close to your eye (without getting your eye lid) and hold for 6 seconds then release and reclamp as close to the end of your lashes (while making sure lashes are still in curler) and hold for 6 seconds. Next apply mascara first by closing your eye and coating down then open your eye and coat up and out (it helps if you slightly wiggle the brush while applying). If you wear mascara on the bottom lashes you want to apply using a verticle movement with the mascara wand instead of the normal horizontal. Just make sure not to get clumps on your lashes, they sometimes stick to the end of the bristles of your wand, just take your time.
4. Not everyone wants to spend the money on colored mascara but it is fun to change things up every once in a while. You can do this with things you already own. You want to use vaseline, and eyeshadow. The way I did it was I put some vaseline on the tip of one of my fingers then used a little eye make-up brush and mixed in the color I desired. Then just applied using that same eye brush to my lashes from bottom to top.

Getting Started

I've decided I wanted to start blogging about the two things I love. And I hope to help people who may sometimes feel lost when it comes to face and hair.
Please feel free to make requests about things you would like me to try or if you have questions I will do my best to answer them.
So it begins :)
